The 8300 uses ATX 20+4 pin connectors. That PS will work, but will require that you cut the *** metal at the back of the case to fit a space for the on-off switch.

so you are saying that this PSU will work with my dim 8300 but this PSU has 24 PIN motherboard connecter, so it doesnt matters if it has 24 pin it still going to work with my dim 8300 motherboard.

please do replay thanks in advance

That PS has a detachable 4-pin CPU power connector, which is what you'll need for the 8300 (rather than the single-block 24-pin BTX connector on the 8400, the 8300 uses separate 20 and 4 pin connectors).

You'll still need to cut the back of the case to fit the PS.

Some are and some aren't - there are pages that say the 8300 doesn't need an
adapter. I was hoping to get that confirmed from an objective source to
avoid frying the motherboard.

I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong but aren't Dell's PSU's (or
their connections) proprietary?

Meaning you have to buy from Dell?
