I used to have the same view of Outlook Express because I heard how viruses
had a better chance of getting in through that software. But, I started
using it a few years ago and haven't had any problems. As stated before, a
good antivirus program is always needed no matter what you use for email.
Also, I have Outlook set that the preview pane is OFF. That way I decide
which emails to view. My ISP scans email for viruses but my AVG software
still caught one a few weeks ago in a piece of SPAM.
