"Dell Inspiron SmartStep 250N" with Bad Battery


Has anyone else had or heard of problems with the "Dell Inspiron
SmartStep 250N" and its rechargeable battery.

I believe that the current recall of batteries does not apply to this
unit.

Of course I am assuming that it is the battery and not the recharging
section . Any way to check it without buying a new battery (je using a
multimeter or test equipment.)
