I have the same mouse. It goes to 'sleep' after a few seconds of not being
moved around. If it is just sitting there it is ok to leave the switch on,
but if it is in your laptop bag or being moved around, turn the switch off.
I use mine more than 8 hours a day and the battery lasts nearly two weeks
without needing a recharge.
