Re: Zone Alarm slowed download speed

I'm sure Steven will respond to you directly, so I won't speak for him. But
I echo his comment that the presence of a firewall does not affect the speed
of an internet connection. (Without Zone Alarm's firewall, Windows is using
its own firewall.) Nor does antivirus or anti-spyware filtering, which ZAISS
also has. The speed at which you connect to the internet is determined by
your ISP. (In the case of DSL and dialup, the quality of the telephone line
also affects the connection, and a DSL connection is also affected by your
distance to the nearest DSLAM.)

If you think you're having a problem with your Zone Alarm software, you
should try asking in the Zone Labs User Forum (accessible from the Zone
Alarm web site.)

suspect in your case, the presence of filtering software really does not
affect your download speed, which is determined by your ISP.
