Make sure when you change the display resolution, you are seleting a
resolution AND a refresh rate that is compatable with both the screen and
your video adapter.
It's easy to choose a resolution or refresh rate that is too high for your
system to display at which time the display will go blank. But, the system
should only try the new resolution for a matter of 15 seconds or so, while
it's waiting for you to click on the 'ok' box to accept the new settings. If
you don't touch any keys, it should revert back to the previous settings.
