get part info

When online at Dell website, and configure a system, is there a way to
lookup what parts are going to be used?

For example, I want to know how many PCI slots the motherboard will
have, one or two IDE channels (or are all newer motherboards one IDE
channel only, seems like I've seen other boards with two), etc.
Aren't Dell motherboards (re-branded) INtel boards?

Does anyone know what make/model Dell DVD burners are? Or does the
make/model vary from week to week depending on which ones are cheapest
at the moment?

Oh, one other question, anyone have any comments on buying online
versus calling? (one model has everything I want, but has Dual DVD
drives, and I only want one DVD R/W unless the motherboard really does
have two IDE connections.......online doesn't have that option)
