Here is an update on what I have found. So far, nobody (here or on the
Dell forums) has indicated that they have done this. Dell email support was
incompetent and never even answered the question. Dell phone support
(Panama) was actually pretty reasonable. He asked around and then admitted
that nobody there had tried it or knew the answer (refreshing that they
could at least respond directly). He did say he would at least try to
investigate whether it is possible or not (he assumed it was possible).
Maybe I am the only one who cares. It seems like memory cards could be much
more convenient than floppies or CDs in many cases. Of course, USB flash
drives might be enough. If nothing else I would like to understand how
booting from USB works.
