phil, though i like the concept of reusing the older functioning components
it really is not economical. for about $600 you can get a new dell that has
everything that you describe integrated in it plus a full year warranty. to
top it off it will have double the battery life as compared to the c610 and
weigh less. since dell no longer sell new machines that use the 'c' series
modular components or docking stations you are faced with buying used. the
problem with used is the unknown condition, that they are older technology,
usually lack warranty, and often are over priced as compared to new.
