The brand is not that big of a deal. One thing i purchased an external case and put my own dvd burner in it it uses usb 2.0 or Firewire since it is external I don't have to reach down to burn a cd or dvd and even though it is not the fastest I find myslef using it the most . buying an external case and a drive is not that m uch more than an internal one cna can be easier on the install depening on your computer. if he is doing video editing good chance he already has a firewire card.
External cases run about 30m bucks or less
Is that 30 million bucks...wow! I dont think my wife would let me spend that much on an external case. She usually frowns on any over $50.
30 milli-bucks would be great, I can afford 0.030 dollars no problem.
