You must deal with some real *** ISPs then. Every one I have dealt with
has warnings and most even recommend software packages and firewalls to
prevent problems. AOL, Earthlink, Verizon, Road Runner, Logical Net, all
include warnings and most even offer free spam and virus filtering.
However I also think that use of the net falls on the shoulders of the
consumer. Just like it does with every other consumer item out there. It
is not a companies responsibility to protect me from being an idiot.
That is my problem. If I buy internet access and open my system up to
everything that is my choice. Stupid but still my choice. They only have
an obligation to provide the signal to my modem/LAN nothing more.
Just like you speeding down the road, In your world that means that the
car dealer MUST be responsible for that since they sold you the vehicle,
and your actions are threatening to others. So from now on all cars
built will have a governor system that will allow it to go only 20 mph
since that is a safe controllable speed that is usually survivable. Oh
and no more than one cup of coffee or one beer since both contain
chemicals that can cause you to become irrational and attempt to harm
others. No sex since there are innumerable diseases that can kill you
IF you get infected with them.
Basically it is NOT a in a companies pervue to tell me how I can use the
product I bought from them, It is MY responsibility to know how to use
it, when to use it and why. NO ONE ELSES.
