The Xmas season always makes me feel somewhat nostalgic and kind of blue, as well. Long thoughts and all. I subscribe to the notion that no one is truly gone until they're completely forgotten about, you know? Like keeping an occasional wistful thought or a fond memory slowly turning in your mind helps polish and preserve the essence of a person who's no longer present. Or maybe I'm just nuts.

All I know is there'll come a day sometime when what was once a familiar, everyday association or an ever present connection becomes vague and strained.
"Joyce? Joyce who? Do I... did I... know a Joyce? What about her? Which Joyce, from where?"

As more stuff of little and less importance falls away in the slipstream of our daily bustle towards obscurity, I like to try and stop and savor the fragments.
Call me old-fashioned. Call me when cocktails are ready.
