Hi Dana,
Nice to see you again. I wish I would have stayed, not strayed. I'd had 7+ years under my belt when I had one stressful event in my life and didn't give a thought to picking up a friend's cigarette.
Whoever it was that used to say "Stay vigilant"... it's good advice.
Nicole (Freezing in Wisconsin)
I will quit smoking in 2 days, 11 hours, 53 minutes and 17 seconds.
I remember you Nicole on here from a long time ago.

Hello Kathleen,
Nicole!!! Are you on FB??? How is that baby?
You know, or might not know, you were an incredible inspiration to
me,
and the person who pointed me to our newsgroup in the first place.
You have always been a key part of my quit Nicole - I have a special
place in my heart just for you.
And you kept quitting and kept quitting... and I know you will
again.
Love,
Kathleen

Hi Keven,
After being quit 7+ years, I picked up again. In June it will be 2
years I've been smoking again, if I don't quit again. What's it
like smoking again? Horrible. It tastes bad, I smell bad, I cough,
I wheeze, my chest hurts, and I struggle over and over to quit yet
again. Those who knew me know I was a "serial quitter". I'm going
through that same Hell again.
I do have a new quit date set, as of Monday at noon, and I'm
terrified. I'm getting married Friday. Busy weekend, then new
life... hopefully new quit. I'm absolutely terrified... as you can
see because I've said that twice now. I'll be haunting AS3.
So take it from me... smoking is worse than it was when I quit.

Hello Keven,
One thing that troubles me still about my quit is that
occasionally
I
get a
thought such as "what would it be like to smoke again?" That is
really
a
stupid question because I know exactly what it would be like! I
smoked
for
so long, how the HELL could I forget what it was like? Why would I
even ask
myself such a STUPID question??? I am thankful every day that I
have
quit.
In fact, I have had miserable days where the only good thing I
could
think
about was "at least I don't smoke!"
So, where does that question (what would it be like...) come from?
From the
nicodemon of course. I don't know about other people, but I don't
think I'll
ever stop hearing it's voice. Every once in a long while now I
hear
it. Yes,
even after almost 8 years! It's just something I believe I'll deal
with for
the rest of my life. It's okay though. It's even a helpful
reminder.
:-p~~~~~~~ Keven
Don't ever forget why you quit.
