Less traumatic? Would money make it easier?
Money can buy the skill and ongoing attention of some very capable people.
I know for a fact that if I had more money, I could have bought in a lot
more support for my quit and smoothed out many of the worst bumps.
Really? Weren't you going to have those bumps anyway? Wouldn't
they seem just as bumpy?
We live under the misconception that money would make things
easier. Some things, yes. But certainly not everything. Witness
those who had money and ended tragically. The headlines are full
of their stories daily.
Wouldn't money in fact make it harder?
Wouldn't money and influence delay the quit? It would remove
much of the incentive for quitting.
If I had a whole world looking in on me, I'd be too ashamed to keep
smoking.
Let's hope that happens for the president.
Let's hope he sticks with it. He's now two years older than his
mother got to be and only 4 years younger than his father. His
grandmother had longevity. Let's hope he remembers what his
grandmother told him (Assuming she did tell him to quit smoking).
