o-t Chinese jade ornament query

Among my late wife's possessions was a white jade Chinese ornament which i've
asked a lot of people about; I know nothing of such things.
It is accompanied bya note in the box from an aunt of hers of whom she
was very fond, and who had died some years ago. This claimed the thing
was Ming dynasty and was quite valuable, it was a gift to Sharon on her
aunt's return from China I imagine.
I'll try to describe it as well as I can.
I suppose it is about almost two inches across, a quarter of an inch
thick, in shape it is like a big coin, and holes have been worked
through it
so the remaining material forms a pattern with an outer ring
all around the edge.
So, if anyone has the slightest idea on whether this is a genuine antique
and worth money, or,as I suspect, a cheap trinket made to sell to
gullible foreigners, I'd be glad to hear it, either way.
I've looked for a n/group specific to such things but no luck.
