Re: OT - netiquette question




I never heard of this convention and I have been on the 'net for some 15
years now. All capitals, yes, that is seen as shouting in text.
Color doesn't figure in my internet use, but I was once chastised
many years ago
by a small number of users in a n/group because I had selected
z
(which in Britain is phonetically 'said', near enough)
for my quote mark instead of the customary > greater than symbol.
Apparently this was producing some unknown weird effect on some peoples
screens; I think it was to do with the colors in quoted text.
Naturally, I quickly altered the configuration of my usenet software.
