How are you doing Luna ?
great so far! Thought I was getting side effects from the Chantix
yesterday, but turns out it was just, you know, that time of the month.
Sorry for the TMI!
Have you got a good plan in place for when you quit ?
I'm not sure what you mean by this. I'm not going out to the bar with
my friends, because everyone smokes there. I'm going to eat lunch at
work with other people instead of in my car by myself, since the only
reason I did that was so I could smoke afterwards. I'm going to get my
car professionally cleaned so it no longer smells like smoke, and get my
teeth professionally cleaned to remove the nicotine stains. I've got a
couple of cans of almonds to munch on if I need that hand-to-mouth
thing. And if I get really desperate I can call my friend who lives 5
minutes away and I'll go over there and play Scrabble to distract me.
Have you read the F A Q ? (loads of good tips there)
I read it years ago, when I was last here. I'll read it again.
What bust you quit last time ? (be prepared)
Last time, I'd been quit for 6 weeks, but my roommate still smoked. The
night after we moved into our new place, we had burglars break in, tie
us up, and rob us. After they left and we were waiting for the police,
he lit one up, and I asked for one too. That was that. If something
like that happens again, I'll just let myself break down, be
hospitalized for shock if I need to.
We could really do with another new quitter to come out of the
woodwork and be your joined at the hip quit buddy so come on you
lurkers take the plunge with Luna.
You dont' need that DIRTY HOT TOXIC SMOKE
Yoy do need that CLEAN COOL FRESH AIR
QUITTING SMOKING IS THE BEST THING YOU WILL EVER DO FOR YOURSELF
Well there was that particular evening with the female Brazillain
beach volley ball team in Rio on the Copacabana beach (we are talking
corned dogged) but I rarely talk about that here :)
You can do it Luna
Chris
Thanks!

Kin hell ....Bastards !!
I think sometimes you need a bit of luck in a quit to avoid situations
like that, either luck or massive support or a combination of both. I
had to face up to very stressful situations which I could not avoid
and deal with them ...it was very hard and I was very lucky. I used to
think of every trigger situation as a test. Sue talks on AS3 about
being stubborn, I think you need a bit of that too, a bit of Keven's
anger hits the spot. One thing that did it for me and Lynn has spoken
of it, is the fact that as I got into the group more I felt beholden
to this group of diverse people with a common goal, I could not face
up to them if I failed. I did fail at one time, I smoked my hat off
for 11 months and came back with my tail between my legs. Basically
though its anything you can use to stop putting one of those ***
sticks in your mouth, after a time the freedom comes...THE FREEDOM
which all right minded smokers crave... and I will tell you something
Luna that freedom is fantastic, however you get there it matters not,
you just have to get there.
Keep at it
Good luck
Chris
