Bonjour ... Eh!
A Seasonal Funk is blowing through ... not unexpected but existing
conditions have made it's effect a little more pronounced.
Seasonal Funks are usually early Spring and Autumn. I've recently
taken to buying myself small toys to help alleviate the symptoms.
Also BBQ and Pool Therapy offer some relief.

An update on our going-ons.
Annette's knee pain seems to be finally easing off a bit. Not taking
near as much pain meds. It's now more use of the walker and less
wheelchair time ... physio seems to be that delicate balance between
pain management and exercising. She's been singing her heart out
daily. Good for the Spirit.
The kids are doing great. Off to a good start with school. The
Youngest has a swimming instructor from years ago as her home room
teacher -- she was shocked (she was a 'reluctant' swimmer in those
years :-) ). She's highly motivated at this point so we're hoping we
can keep her at it. Grade 8 was one of my best years.
The Eldest and her BF are doing well -- this kid is a really nice
guy. I like him -- he can mop the floor with me at Quake 2
deathmatch. He's smart (academic awards), motivated (athletic
awards), considerate (helps Annette around in the wheelchair when
needed), and just an all-around polite nice guy. He fits in great
with the family.
I've been cooking up a storm as of late. Doing lots of new things
(slow cooker chicken stroganoff, slow cooker Salisbury steak) did a
chicken stir fry last night and slow cooker beef stew the night before
with fresh baked biscuits. Tonight it's pasta with veggies. Tomorrow
scalloped 'taters and ham with veggies. Did a pair of beer can
chickens late last week. I've been using Russet potatoes for home
made fries (from the oven) experimenting with different seasonings ...
this seems to hold some promise.
I've fallen behind in stuff around the house. Today I fixed the
leaking bath tub tap again (had to use the Dremel to smooth the
seating surface -- normally you can unscrew the surface and replace it
but noooooo ... the guys that bought them thought they could save a
few bucks ... and I'm still not sure why it wears out / corrodes like
it does every year or so). I did finally get a solar blanket for the
pool. I told the kids the goal this swim season is have a turkey on
the BBQ (a small turkey) and our butts in the pool with Thanksgiving
music playing on the boom box -- the goal is to be swimming on the
Thanksgiving weekend. It'll be a Thanksgiving Par-Tay.
---
I've been by every day to see how everyone is doing -- you are all
very much in my heart. When I saw Polar Bears post on her 2 month 2
week meter post I had to give her a huge hug.
Sooo that's it ... slogging along. No need for fucking cigarettes
that's for sure. I can't think of many things that have made me
Prouder and my Life easier than quitting smoking. Smoking was a
burden. Now I walk much more lightly.
Big Giant Hugs,
Marvie
