Terrible horrible no good very bad day

OK, so first, I go out to get into my car to drive to work. I turn the
key. Nothing happens. Well, nothing, that is, but a lot of clicking,
which told me immediately what the problem is.

If my boyfriend were in town, I'd just take his car. But his car is
sitting at the Atlanta airport and he is in Chicago. Right.

So I call AAA and they send a little guy who is very nice but
regrettably speaks very little English. He knew what was going on
enough, however, to jump my car off enough to get me to a place where
I can buy a battery.

My car is sputtering and trying to stall, but I make it. $100 later, a
brand new battery.

Get to work. The top parking deck, where I park, is blocked off for
some inconceivable and undoubtedly asinine reason. I have to park on
the second level, which is covered and resembles the Batcave. I'm
supposed to be picked up tonight by friends and go to the Braves game.
I really don't want to walk back to my car at 10 p.m. in the Batcave.
More on that later.

So I get to work, 2 hours late. At lunch, I'm making a little instant
rice noodle bowl. As I was attempting to rip the little pouch of
seasoning oil open, it rips open and bursts all over me and the shirt
I'm wearing, which just happens to be one of my favorites.

As I'm eating the soup, I spill it on my shirt. Same place. Keep
dabbing it with soap and water. It isn't really helping.

Went and moved my car in a thunderstorm.
I have a headache
AND
I started my period.

I realize that things could be worse. I haven't sustained bodily
injury. I haven't lost enormous sums of money. But I can still be in a
bad mood, dammit.

No, I'm not going to smoke. But I'm not going to lie and say it hasn't
crossed my mind.
