Thanks for sharing, Fred. What an event for you. Do you see them
very often?
Sue
Two years, four months, one week, two days, 19 hours, 27 minutes and
21 seconds. 28472 cigarettes not smoked, saving $4,740.71. Life saved:
14 weeks, 20 hours, 40 minutes.
This is about the fifth time. The other times were a single bird
sighting. Once, a turkey came flying down the road towards my car. I
didn't know they could fly so I thought it was a demon from hell. Very
large hawkish looking creature with a wing span way wider than my car.
She pulled up at the last minue and veered of to my right. She landed
expertly in the grass. That's when I knew what it was. They can fly
really well.
My daughter (#3) was driving out in the country several years ago (in
my car) and hit a pheasant. The darned thing's head lodged in the
grill (not really a grill but some piece on the front) and the body
flopped up on the hood after spattering the windshield with blood.
Cost me something like $75 to replace the broken piece. The least she
could have done was bring it home for dinner - ours, that is.
Saw a bear yesterday. It seemed annoyed so I wasn't brave to take a
picture.
I never saw a bear in the three years I lived in Alaska. Lots of
moose but no bear.
I think you were very smart to leave him/her alone
