Thanks, Cat! Keeping to focus on what we GAIN from being smober is
one of the best ways to stay that way. I, too, am able to be around
smokers and I chiefly feel sorry that they are still addicted. I am
glad that little by little the social status of smoking is declining
as I hope it willl help keep more kids away from them in the first
place. In all of our stories about when we quit, to read of someone
over 21 smoking for the first time is VERY rare. Most of us were
sucked into smoking long before we really were adult enough to
appreciate the consequences.
My son is 17 and to my knowledge does not smoke. I have high hopes that he
wont pick up the habit. I did catch him with some when he was 14 or so,but
that has been the last time I have. I pray he never starts smoking.it is a
bitch to quit once started!
