it is not " for nothing" Mike. you may never have same lung capacities as a
non smoker but quitting is not going to make it worse. It is bound to make
breathing easier.
your uncle gave up. my dad has brain cancer and after 2 operations,
radiation, palliative chemo (was meant to be a... well palliative there was
nothing else to do BUT which I am very proud to say is shrinking the biggest
of the tumor even his doctors are suprised this is working so well) now he
is doing better than he was a year ago and if you ask him he is going to die
from old age not this and at age of 59 he has a while to go.
you have a choice ,fight no matter if the quit makes a difference or
continue on smoking and make the COPD worse until you die from it.

have been quit for 5 weeks now i had copd not bad but in both lungs if i
stay off the smoking will it keep it from getting worse are is it to
late dont want to go thru the pain of quitting for nothing they told my
uncle he had cancer but he did not quit told the dr why quit now done
got cancer he smoked till he passed away take care everyone mike
