Thanks to all who read and responded to this diatribe... ramble... eulogy.
Whatever it was.
It certainly reinforces the idea of the absolute universality of loss, and
the notion that pain shared is somehow pain lessened.
Everyone has an Andrew in their lineup of memorable characters/tragically
flawed friends.
That we can all be here, reminiscing or wistfully recalling such people in
our lives-- or maybe just recognizing our own sadly departed pals in someone
else's recounting of their over-the-top times together-- is, I think,
weirdly compelling testimony to the power of this place to help us heal.
I very much appreciate all of your kind comments.
Sometimes I think my head would explode if I didn't have this outlet; I
swear to God I do...
