Smell / Stench

This subject must have been discussed a million times before but anyway.
Today I did some ironing, both stuff that has been hanging to dry before and
after I quit. That laundry is hanging in the back of my apartment, where I
never used to smoke.
When I was ironing the stuff from before 3 days ago, the steam smelt of
cigarettes! I was quite shocked really.
The other laundry smelt sooo fresh, even with my blocked nose I could
clearly notice the difference
(this is starting to sound like some commercial, haha..)
Anyway, if my clean laundry that has been hanging to dry on the other side
of my apartment smelt of cigs, how must I have been smelling all that
time..? I never want to stink like that again, never ever!
