Hello there,

I just got another "new" used laptop from my husband, and this time it's
an iBook. I like it, but I'm having trouble figuring out what newsreader
I should use.

I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but I use Mozilla. But I only use it for newsgroups and as a back-up browser for sites that Safari can't open. I still use Safari for my browser and Mail for email. Using Mozilla just for newsgroups is overkill, I know, but I tried other readers several years ago (Pre-OSX) and didn't like them. I like being able to click on a link in a post and have it open in the same app. I also happen to be a moderator in a moderated newsgroup, so this package works well for that.

Mozilla will let you munge your email address to some extent. I can't do that any more, though, since I'm a moderator, so I can't remember to what extent I was able to change it before. I want to say the user name part could be munged, but the server part had to be real. But it's been a long time....
