Well, I made it through "hell day". Thanks again to all who sent
encouraging replies to my whining. I still don't know what triggered
those cravings, but I suspect I cut my patch a tad small. I didn't
make that mistake today:-)

The experience also bolstered my belief that ODAT is the way to go for
me. On the way to work yesterday, I was so depressed about the
prospect of *never* smoking again (or more accurately, craving
*forever*). However, by vowing to not smoke just for yesterday, it
made the task much less daunting. It wasn't easy, but it was doable.
This group helped....thanks for that.

To anyone who is in the early stages of a quit (even earlier than
mine), what everyone here keeps on saying. It really does get
better. It's better today than it was yesterday. It will be better
tomorrow. If it's not, I may smoke a cigarette. But no matter what
happens, I will not smoke today!

Cheers,
Rob
If it hadn't been for this group's support yesterday, I probably would
not have gone one month, two weeks, 20 hours, 15 minutes and 51
seconds without smoking a total of 1345 cigarettes. Did I say
"thanks" already? If not, thanks!

Good for you, Rob!!! Glad you made it through the bad day. I know
what you mean about being depressed at the thought of never again
having even one cig. You will have bad days. No one can promise you
that you won't. But, like your day yesterday, you can get through
them and then, like today, you feel triumphant that you made it. Keep
on making it. Day by day.

One year, seven months, one week, three days, 8 hours, 46 minutes and
42 seconds. 19449 cigarettes not smoked, saving $3,238.27. Life saved:
9 weeks, 4 days, 12 hours, 45 minutes.
