Welcome to the group, mary-ellen. I quit using Chantix. I smoked the first
6 days while taking it and on day 7 I quit. Have not puffed since and never
will, God and this group help me :)
Post often. Please know you are not alone. You have all of us behind you
giving you all the support you need.
Once again, welcome. Be strong and stubborn.

Got the prescription, talked with the dr. who is very supportive (her
M-I-L used Chantix 2 months ago and is a non-smoker now after 40 years).
She says it may take more than one week to get things going and to take it
one day at a time. I love her, she is motivating without cramming things
down my throat.
I have some extra motivation - at 50 years old, the blood pressure is
creeping up (most likely inherited from my mom who had the same thing
beginning around this age) and I started taking Vasotec today after having
a nice baseline heart stress test on the treadmill at the hospital -
nothing bad found which is good)
So I will be popping in around Nov 7th or so once I decide on my final
stop day.
Everyone's stories, praises and rants are wicked supportive and I am
looking forward to starting my own quit meter - I think I will make it a
leopard print one for the bad girl in me.
