Re: Switching from Nicoderm patches to gum or lozenges??

I have no advice for you Steve, as I didn't use any of those methods, but
just wanted to tell you that you are doing great. You do your sister proud,
hon. Keep it up.

hugs

: Hi, Hey I'm back. So I can use some advice if anyone has he
: experienece with this. I'm 3 days away from finishing phase1 of the
: nicoderm program, I step down from 21mg to 14mg on Thursday. It's
: these damn rashes I'm getting now on a constant basis. No problem for
: about a month, then all of the sudden I'm getting these patch shaped
: elevated welts, that itch and burn. I rub hydrocortsone cream in and
: that quites the burning/itching. BUT, my legs look like a monopoly
: board. Doesn't matter if I use opaque or clear. Some welts are worse
: than others. I can take pictures and post them if anyone's
: interested :), I can, really... SO I'm thinking maybe I should try the
: lozenges or gum. I've done so well w/ the patches but these welts
: can't be good. Anyone ever do this? Switch in mid stream? Anyone have
: good luck with the lozenges or gum? I tried gum once and it didn't do
: much for me but I probably wasn't using it correctly. I'm not paying
: money or supporting anyone that sells tobacco products, so no smoking
: either way. My sister told me not to smoke before she passed. I'm
: going to do that.
: Thanks for getting me through a real rough time. It was a lousey week.
: It's a little better now, but anyone that went through anything like
: this knows what I'm talking about. BTW - I did have some urges last
: week. Like when I sat down at the computer I was looking for he smoke
: in the ashtray?? more than once. then again is was a real bad
: week..Wishing you all a successful quit, hoping I can lend some supprt
: to anyone I can.
: Regards, Steve
