Echo, can you give me some computer advice? You seem to be about the
most knowledgeable person here (no offense to anyone else) as far as
the mechanics of every day use go. My problem is that I used IE which
I like just fine but now when I click on a link such as you have below
my computer can no longer find the page, I get the "this page cannot
be displayed" and I'm advised that the web site wants the following
add on - "Shell Doc Object and Control Library from Microsoft
Corporation". Then I'm told to download it. This scares me. I don't
know what it is, tried to do a Google search, found tons of hits and
understood not a damned thing. So, I have Netscape and figured I'd
just change to that. Well, I can't figure out how to make that the
default browser. In my old computer, every time I used another
available browser I got a message asking me if I wanted to make that
the default. That isn't happening. I sent an e-mail to the help
people and didn't get a response. I'd rather use the IE because
that's where all my bookmarks are and I don't know any easy way to
switch them. I tried Opera with the last computer and just prefer
either IE or Netscape. I have no problem with Bill Gates. I'd just
like to be able to click on the links that are posted here and open
the URL's instead of having open Netscape and then copy and paste
them.
Oddly enough, of all my bookmarks in IE the only one I can get into is
my bank. Everything else gives me that above message.
Now, I'm going to copy and past your links to look at your pictures.
