Steve! Your rant definitely made the earth shake all the way back
here in NYC! <G> Truthfully though, while it totally makes no sense
at all, often turning modems off and back on or doing the voo-doo with
routers does make them work again. There is NO logical reason why
that is, but it's just so. Sometimes being logical is illogic if you
get my drift.

But the good part is that neither of you smoked to 'solve' the
problem!
