Doug's post ('gearing up, I'm new') told of being a smoker & getting a
brief scent of fresh rain and missing those childhood smells. I remember
being a smoker and getting quick whiffs of fresh cut grass and wishing I
could 'really' smell it, like I did as a child.
DH is out mowing the lawn right now. I am sitting on the porch reveling
in the strong fresh scent. It is heaven.
I can also smell the remnants of our last bonfire in the
sofa-cushion...sweet.
There is a fall crispness to the air. I can smell the gentle scent of the
leaves changing colors.
Life is good.
On the other hand, I had bean soup for lunch.
