First things first .....
{{{{{{{{{woooowooooowooooowooooowooooowooooo}}}}}}}}}}
vibrating nicely now, are we ?
Good. Then we'll carry on.
The Big Quit of 2002 (about 2 months & 2 weeks or so) was lost on precisely these grounds ... aftermath of dental torture. Had waaay too much work done at once (story of life) and reacted very badly to either the anaesthetic or bruised nerves or something. Quit bust. Whoopsybugger. So I'm going to be getting quite excited again in 3-4 weeks time when I get past *that* milestone.
Here in the here & now, I'm just back from the dentist. A month ago, I went to the dentist with a *huge* swelling (non-painful) in my lower jaw where a wisdom tooth never came through. My dentist was on holiday, so I saw a substitute who said "Oh my God, that's big !" (which it is) guessed it was a cyst & gave me the option of removal of non-grown tooth in dental surgery (at cost of £200+) or wait up to 6 months for referral to hospital for a surgeon to have a go at no cost. I opted for hospital, dentist opined that was probably the best idea, all things considered. BUT. Substitute dentist can't do hospital referral (no, I don't know why either). Has to be own dentist. So substitute dentist will tell own dentist to do referral when she gets back from holiday & I will hear from hospital.
One month later (last week) I'd heard nothing. Nor, it transpired, had own dentist. My notes had been filed away & she knew nothing. So I had to go back today to see own dentist. She looked at gum swelling and said "Oh my God, that's big !" (she's right) x-rayed it, confirmed it is a cyst & didn't give me the option of anything but urgent hospital referral. Which when it happens will mean that depending on how radical they feel like being, I'll either have ...
incision of gum to allow cyst fluid to drain
incision of gum plus excision of cyst and cyst lining
incision of gum plus excision of cyst and cyst lining plus extraction of non-grown tooth.
The last one depends on how extractable non-grown tooth is, because if its in the wrong position, "they wouldn't want to risk damaging the nerves in your jaw". I wouldn't want to risk damaging the nerves in my jaw either, come to that.
So that's where the tooth fairy has left me at the moment. I'm *so* glad the sinus infection's better ;)

darlin' Judy,
OK, I am totally loving the first paragraph + disclaimer sentence
insert that follows ...
I don't know if you got the memo, but the first dentist appointment
around here seems to be THE thing that anchors the quit permanently.
Seriously. Google 'dentist' in the group - it is some of the funniest
stuff written here - and you will feel in very good company in today's
excursion...
Am very proud of you for keeping on!! Send me some healin' vibes girl!!
xoxo
