Re: What motivated you?

Wow!
What a deal!!!
My brother was in Iraq the first 6 months (and will probably go back soon).
I wrote him almost every day while he was gone. It was scary but I got a
lot closer to God! I will pray for your Grandson so please check in and
give us an update.

My Father In Law died of lung cancer. There is a part of me that expects
that to happen to DH too. He has smoked for a long time and shows no signs
of slowing down. Good luck!
With hope and heart,
Kathleen

What motivated me was my Grandson Dean asking me Why I didn't Love him
as
much as he did me.
When I told him I did Love him as much,
He said ,then why do you smoke ?? You
will die before you see me graduate, get
married and then when I have my own
kids, they will never get to know my
Grandma Sugar,or have any of the good
times we have had together.
Then came the kicker,he offered me
a deal I couldn't refuse...He said if
I would quit ....he wouldn't start.
I quit 5 years ago,saw him graduate,
get married, and now he is in the Army
and getting deployed to Iraq....... Damn.
I pleaded with him not to join at this time, but he said he felt it was
his Duty
to protect us all.......
I am very Proud of him ,but at the same time so frightened for his
safety.....
Please say a prayer for his safe return
and all of our military......
I was dagnosed with Emphysema 8 years
ago and am feeling good, never had to use inhalers.....
Sadly Hubby has been fighting lung
cancer,finished Chemo and the cancer
cells are gone....Now doing radiation
to try to wipe out any remaining invisable
cells.....He quit smoking 7 years before,
so the damage was already done.
Quitting early really does make a difference.....
Good Luck On your Quits Everyone
You Can and Will Succeed.....
