damn racoons. they got into my coop 2 years ago and made a real mess. I
didn't lose any at that time but I did find one down by the road scared
shitless the next day and half of her ass feathers torn off. She was very
lucky.she hide in the wild roses.
Do you close (lock) them in at night?

I haven't posted about this because I didn't want to break any hearts, but

coon or something came along and killed half our "flock". Of 5 babies, 3
disappeared, the Mama and rooster both gone too.

I just bought 4 more chicks today, leaving us with our fave Barred rock
"Peeps", DH's chicken "Dufus" and the remaining chick "Peeps Jr" (or
"Cleo"
if Lizzy is reading this) and 4 new babies. (1 Barred Rock, 1 Rhode
Island
Red and 2 Buff Orpintons)

Dad has about 15 roosters so we need to bring one home soon to "protect"
the
hens. lol
