Re: being together with lots of smokers

Hi Happy Polar Bear,
I know how you feel. I thought that after two years I wouldn't even consider
smoking again, but I do sometimes. The desire passes quickly and I forget
about it as soon as something else catches my attention. The rest of the
time, I think it's so great to be free of that addiction, that need to
smoke. It's so much more practical too!

But I wanted to say I'm glad to see you've been quit for so long and
congratulations. I wonder, would it be possible to hang out with the smokers
as if you were a smoker but without the cigarette? I remember the advice in
Allen Carr's book: watch how quickly the smoker smokes, how soon the
cigarette is finished..how soon they want another... it just isn't worth it
to smoke! But do hang out with your smoker friends. Cigs have done enough
harm, let's not let them divide us and keep us from friendship.

Katie

I will be going on my clerical course this summer, so I will be away for
almost 3 moth from home. Maybe some weekend home.

I know lots of smokers will be around me. From previous courses I know I
enjoyed smoking, it was always a good thing to go done with smokers in our
little smoker corner, hidden from everyone, and bitching about everything
especially about our instructors.

Somehow I feel deprived of that and feel like I want to smoke again just
for that reason. I also know smoking has a relaxing effect. Those thougt
are just there and their is of course fear of giving in behind it. And I
should know better.

I never thought that after over 2 years there would be the thought of
wanting to smoke ever come back.

Oh how much I wished right now to smoke again and when I am back I just
stop again.

any way better get going so many things still to do.

hugs PolarBear
