Well, horses aren't generally widely regarded for their linguistic ability or grasp of complex subject matter. You have to be very patient with them when you want them to do something special or get them to understand anything more subtle than "here's food."

If I were in the same spot as the poor cowboy, I think I'd rather have had a dolphin helping me out. Then again, there probably wouldn't be a body of water nearby large enough to support much aquatic...
