Well, had some breathing difficulties as a result of the flu. They are
almsot resolved, but the doc was concerned enough that he sent me to a
pulmonologist for some tests I'm still on an inhaler after 3 weeks and still
can't exercise.
Results after 30+ years of smoking at least a pack a day? After being quit
for slightly over 4 months? Well, the technician said that he would never
have guessed that I was a smoker. My pulmonary functions were of someone
who had never smoked. I've dodged one bullet. I still am at a higher risk
for cancer, but the odds of emphysema are now way low. Just wonder what
those readings would have been if I never smoked (I was a long distance
swimmer in high school).
So, the good news is that my lungs are okay. The bad news is that my lungs
are okay 'cause the next thing to check is the ticker.
Done done it. Its been Four months, five days, 16 hours, 27 minutes and 4
seconds. 2042 cigarettes not smoked, saving $367.85. Life saved: My own.
Added to my life: 1 week, 2 hours, 10 minutes.
