Could be, or there's something shorting out the battery fast enough to do it
in less than a day. Maybe if you can get the price low enough it would
justify having somebody to track down the short. Could be something
easy/cheap enough to make it a bargain.

My gf just got a dell notebook. Pretty sweet too. (the notebook that is)
We ended up getting a Dell Inspiron 6000 that was refurbished. It had extras
on there that would've bumped a brand new 6000 up by at least $500. So I
think we made out pretty good.
Specs if anybody's interested:
1.60 Ghz Pentium M proc 725
1 Gig of memory
80 GB hard drive
ATI Radeon 64MB X300 video card
15.4 Inch LCD screen
Windows XP home
Office 2003 Small Biz Edition
internal wireless networking
24X CDRW/DVD combo drive
Total cost incl tax and $9 s/h (current discount offer) was $981.79 (US $)
I thought it was a very good deal.
Make sure you get an optical mouse if you decide on a laptop or you'll be
back to smoking in no time lol.

Anyways, now I want a laptop too. :oD
