Thank you for your words of encouragement. I've been to AA meetings so it's not anything new. I enjoyed going to meetings. I wanna go to meetings, and at 10 am this morning i'm going to a meeting.Hi Bryan! I am an alcoholic. I've been going to AA for some years now. I remember thinking that it was so much fun to drink and 'party' all the time that when I had to quit that life would be so boring and depressing all the time. I was really surprised at how my life changed for the better over time after I got sober. And these days when I have fun, it is much more meaningful. It's very hard to put into words, but I have a joy in my heart that was never there before. I have seen a lot of my dreams come true, and I know it is because I did the deal...
I just wanted to write and encourage you. I don't try to push AA on anyone, just like I don't try to push Jesus on anyone - to each his own and what is good for one person is not always good for another. But if you think it would help you better your life, I'm sure it will.
With hope and heart, Kathleen -- Sometimes the Lord calms the storm, and sometimes He lets the storm rage and calms the child instead.
Off subject but i think i'm done drinking.. I've had a lengthy alcohol history that included lots of legal problems and life problems in general. Going to find where the AA meetings are in my area and try to fit in my schedule. I went before so there nothing new to me. Read the AA big book while i sat in jail for 37 days due to a third dui. Sick of drinking. This is a big admission i send this out with some delay but if i say this now put it in words i think i improve my chances of quitting.
My life isn't bad but it can be better if i don't drink. I have no doubts about it.
I am an alcoholic i have no doubts about it. I've been able to admit it for some time now.
And now it's time to do something about it..
And it's so simple i'm a firm believer AA is right for me. It was after i quit going before i started drinking again. But that is just me.
Besides drinking don't help on my smoking lol... .
