I don't know Dune.. but I see where it was easy to get it mixed up as
his mailer doesn't include the > to his immediate response.. it all
looked like it was from him. My apologies Dune if that wasn't
directed at me.. but honestly, it didn't really bother me at all.
Besides, after all the years with MS and on this newsgroup, my skin
has gotten pretty thick.
Since you (Davizona) point out that he is one of the white hats, then
great, I'm glad to know him. I'm usually glad to meet and talk with
anyone who (ACTUALLY) has MS, find out how they cope day to day, month
to month, year to year.
Everyone has their opinion on the "right" treatment. You can't force
what you believe on someone who doesn't share that same opinion.. it's
like the difference in religious and political beliefs, everyone has a
right to their own choices. However, people do tend to cross the line
when it isn't their opinion that the other person is expressing.. name
calling comes in, people get mad, it gets worse and worse, until the
good people leave and all that's left is a big pile of stinking mess,
and the only way anyone new can come in and voice their opinion is if
their opinion is the same as the big pile of stinking mess'.
My opinion is I don't believe in LND. <shrug> I have a good friend
that uses it, she swears by it.. until she relapses, then it's blamed
on a "bad batch", "she was getting a cold", "she was under too much
stress", etc... I believe that when it's *working*, she's actually in
remission, and when it's not, it's because she is having an
exacerbation... that she would be having regardless of of the LND,
that's why it's called R/R - relapsing remitting. But, if it makes her
feel better to use it... then more power to her. If she believes it's
working for her, that's all that matters, for her. I can live with her
belief.. it makes her happy and secure.
Would I recommend it to others? Well, of course not. Why would I
recommend something that I don't believe in. Would *you* recommend it
to others? Well, of course. You would surely recommend something you
believe in. But, remember, you can't force someone to believe the way
you believe. Most people are (rightly) going to listen to their
doctors. If they are interested in LND, they'll look for the facts (?)
and take those with them to their doctor (I did... my Neuro laughed
and told me I was spending too much time on the internet), they'll
talk to their doctor and they'll go from there. A course of treatment
is decided between a patient and his/her doctor, then the patient
(usually) gathers information (sometimes on a newsgroup like this
one.. well, like this one used to be) on the course of treatment the
doctor recommends then makes up his/her mind which way to go.
Do I trust Tick, Donn, Sylvia, Joan, Jim, ETC. (!!) ... you bet I do..
with my life.. after all, it's because of them I've made a lot of the
choices I've made for the last 9+ years.. gone to my doctor with the
right questions when I didn't have a clue where to begin and what to
ask, and because of those choices, I'm still able to sit here and
give my opinion. The one opinion they *ALWAYS* gave first and foremost
was "talk to your doctor, we are not doctors here, we can only tell
you our experiences.." That is the *VERY BEST* advice that can be
given to *anyone* seeking information on *any* disease they may, or
may not, be sure they have. Giving advice to someone one with a
chronic illness, willy nilly, is DANGEROUS.
All I'm saying is make sure the info you are putting out there is
valid *and* wise. Not everyone is going to agree with you (just like
you don't agree with.. well ANYONE). And if you can't put up with so
many disagreeing with you, maybe you should go over to the Multiple
Sclerosis Alternatives http://groups.google.com/group/alt.support.mult-sclerosis.alternatives
group and get LND rockin' over there. See, personally, *I* wouldn't go
there, because I'm not into alternative medicine. But that's just me.

the funny thing is that this 'dune' character is on your side, and so
far
both you and shelley cant recognize that. The funnier thing
is that shelley supposedly uses a killfile, yet the only time she
posts is to comment on a post that she is supposedly 'killing' I
havent seen her
post anything else. You may think she wears a white hat, but she's
gotta be one of the
stupidest fucking people I've ever seen!
