Re: Losing ASMS Photo Albums

Oh what sweet thoughts Eric. Is there whipped cream with those
strawberries???

So very, very glad your family survived the fire. It must have been a
nightmare! Your Mom was right on the money. Life is much more
important than things, but I put a lot of my life into those things
called photos. And I *will* save them, by hook or by crook dad gum it!

See, unfortunately, I don't have the words of wisdom that I once had.
My wittiness has taken a walk. So, at the moment, I'm giving all that
I can give ....

The opportunity for folks to *meet* those to whom they've been speaking
with for, perhaps, many years ... put a face to the name and thereby,
maybe, a voice to the posts. The opportunity to see and cherish those
who are gone ... our dear, sweet Dixie; fiesty Kathi; the irreplaceable
Steve Nelson; and hardest for me, our young, vibrant JD. (Please tell
me no others have been lost!!! No. Don't tell me.)

When I first signed on here, I was able to give some comfort to the
newly dx'd, especially the younsters or their parents. I was able to
battle Mannadrek <g> and other snake oil salesmen preying on other's
misfortune and fear. I was able to elicite the occassional giggle.
Eeeh, not so much anymore.

So I give what I can ... the albums ... with love.

The rest of me hasta go to Hubby & his heart condition; Jennie & her MS
& seizures; Tommy, her youngest, who is autistic; my son John who has
Hashimoto's (another thyroid thingie) & his wife Julie who has Lupus &
Fibro (and is having a breast lump biopsied tomorrow - prayers please)
& their son Nicky who was dx'd with diabetes at age 2.5; my cousin who
just lost his young wife to lung cancer ... the list goes on ... and
on.

So I do what I can here ... maintain the albums ... give folks an
opportunity to share a bit of themselves. It makes me happy (despite
my kvetching).

While I'd love those strawberries (ya coulda offered dark chocolate!),
I need to stay my course.

'Tis good to finally talk with you Eric. I'll be here when I can and
give what I can. Old age has taught me ya can only give so much. I'll
give as much of me as I can when and how I can. I've learned I also
need to keep a little bit to myself else there would be anything more
to share.

Hugs n prayers on you and yours,
P.
PS Once we get settled in a new spot, send your danged photo in! ;)

Hi Pam... I even got through MOST of the posts. I REMEMBER YOU even
if we never spoke,,,, You made ME smile. And isn't it obvious you
made a lot of us smile.

I say, let the Internet have the pictures,,,, (Although I am not
there, we will be immortalized) As my mother said to me in the ashes
of a fire that burned down MOST of our home when I was 12.... and I
was sitting there crying... She said " They are just
things. They can be replaced. You and your brother are OK. That is
what is important. Stop crying"

Isn't it obvious that we all want Pam...

If you stay and stop messing with all of the details and stuff that is
frustrating you I have an entire bowl of Giant Fresh Strawberries with
your name on it.

Thanks

Eric
