I joined 1993ish when this newsgroup was an email group. Chanoch did
all the work involved with creating the group. It was a lot better in
those days and everyone stayed on topic. Just MS.

Well, Steve, I wasn't around then, but it doesn't sound to me like it
was "a lot better". What's wrong with off-topic discussions? I don't
really see any point in having a group that's devoted exclusively to
"all MS all the time". I don't think many other people do, either, else
there'd probably be more of them around. Humour and light-heartedness
are therapeutic, dwelling on MS isn't.

If there's something about MS that you want or need to discuss, there's
no reason you can't just because Tick's telling bad jokes in another
thread. :)

Scott,

I subscribe to a jokes newsgroup to read jokes. I like jokes but not
when I'm looking for something else. The only reason I joined this
group was to keep up with MS developments. That was before the web
when usenet was a valuable source of information. The OT noise in the
group has reduced its useful content to near zero.
