You forgot the part about going on alert and spending a couple hours in
a bunker, which, of course, only occurred *after* you had finally fallen
asleep.
Oh, and they actually gave you a day *off*? You lucky dog.
'Course, I was part of a very small site, only about 20 of us, or so.
One each of radar, satcom, and ground radio maintenance types. So, when
something broke, or, more likely, an operator had a cranial-rectal
inversion, it didn't matter if you were "on-duty" or "off-duty",
you went to work. All hail the coffee bean!
