I was diagnosed this past November so I am still really new at all
this. I am just trying to learn all I can about MS.
The clue there is that you are new to this and probably still in shock.
I just had a relapse and had to have IV steroids for a few days. Now I
am feeling extremely tired. I have a horible headache and my joints
are hurting. Have any of you felt the same? Is it from the steroids or
the MS? I am currently on Copaxone, and the injection site reactions
are nasty. I have red swollen spots on all my injectible parts, they
itch and I am so tired of all of this mess. It's only been a few
months and I am already feeling defeted. I am moody and emotional,
does it get better or am I in for a long sucky life? How do you keep a
happy out look with this crap? I am normaly a very happy upbeat
person, but lately I have been feeling very awful.
I don't use Copaxone, but have red lumps all over me from Betaseron. You may be
responding to the IV steroids, as sleeplessness, headache etc. can occur from
that. Moodiness and emotional lability also go with the steroids. That will
ease. However, it is normal to be depressed when first diagnosed. It's a hell of
a shock.
You will come to terms with it as you get to know what your symptoms are, and
you will adjust. Just remember that you are still YOU, not a disease. Do what
usually gives you relief when distressed whether it is read a book, talk to a
trusted friend, listen to music, whatever. In other words, be good to yourself,
don't expect a lot of your self right now, and most important, stick around
here, there are all kinds of wonderful people in this newsgroup who can support
you.
Why not tell us a little bit about yourself, what you feel like sharing, as to
where you are, whether you are mother, teeny-bopper, or wise sage like........
oh, I better not mention names. :-)
Good luck, and welcome to the sandbox, we will even share our toys.

Thank you so much!
I am 29 and a mother of an 8 year old little boy. He is such a joy. I
am having a hard time explaining this all to him, so if you have any
ideas on that it would be great. I live in Texas and have a wonderful
husband that has been trying to help. Bless his heart, I just keep
yelling at him. I am still reeling from all of this and there is so
much to learn about. Any advice that anyone has would be of great
help.
I have found that I can ask questions in here and get pretty good
responses so I am truly grateful for that. Thanks again.
