Hey, Dove. I understand what you mean by 'alone' and my heart goes out
to you, so I have to say this. You weren't alone, I was lighting them
right along with you. As was my mother-in-law, and her friends, and my
stepdaughter. And your mother, and grandmother. We were all there, all
of us, maybe not in body, but definitely in spirit.

I don't know what your situation is, but my mother-in-law had to wait
83 years for a daughter. Every time I see her or talk to her on the
phone, I'm reminded that I've got the almighty luck to be a blessing on
her head. My husband laughs (ruefully) that she likes me more than she
likes him. I tell him this isn't so, it's just that there are some
things between a mother and a daughter, and she had to wait so long and
she knows how short time is.

May you be blessed with a daughter, even if it's not one of the body,
to share your candles with.
