Congratulations, TICK and especially Mrs. TICK!
37 years here. I don't know how she's stood it: I'd have thrown my ass
out long ago.

Thanks John, I'm with you. There are many times I can't stand
myself...haven't figured out yet how she does.

You know, when you're feeling down and you start showing your ass and
get snappy and crossways with everything and everybody you come across

Why noooo -- I wouldn't know a thing about anything like that! I have a
bridge for sale too. :)

the dog may bite, the horse may kick and the goat may ***. The wife on
the other hand will pat my head or touch my arm in just that certain way
and softly say "chill out" and life is transformed once again. She was
sent to me to help me achieve a purpose. When I figure out what it is
she'll be there smiling.

If I get into a big old rant session or feeling good feeling sorry for
myself, she'll wait it out a bit, then ask: "You done now?" Somehow that
brings things back into perspective.

Should work. Ol' AuH20 somehow looks a lot better now than he did way
back when. Shoot, now Ol' Barry'd look downright middle-of-the-road,
because he was never one to throw the baby out with the bathwater. A
conservative in the old senses of stewardship; keep the good, dump out
what proved not to work, prune, graft, preserve, conserve and improve
wherever possible; That was BG.
