That Montel sure is a slacker, eh? If only he wasn't so lazy, he migh
accomplish something. BTW Tick, if he retired from the Marines in '96,
and his show started in '92, what sort of duties would he have had in
the Marine Corps that would allow that?

Scott, I have searched and been unable to come up with the year of his
discharge. I'm thinking he did not retire with 20 which is the
minimum.
I'm also thinking he probably left the Corps to follow a different
career path.
Many military folks leave the service before their required 20 but
stay
in the reserve to work it out somehow. I have a brother-in-law that
is
doing that. He left the Corps as a brigadier general to teach but
stayed in the reserve to attain what will be a generous retirement
package from the service.

From what I've read, he served 22 years. Enlisted in 1974, right out ofhigh school. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montel_Williams). But if his
show started in 1991, those would overlap. Maybe he was on some sort of
part-time administrative duties? How does that work?
