But to blindly throw out all alt med as quackery is closed-minded and
stupid. It appears that most people on this newsgroup are like that.

Conan, I haven't read all your posts yet, so I don't know if I'm with
you or agin' you, but I have to agree with your statement, above. I
came in with my notions about veganism and how this diet has helped me
survive for the last 14 years, and all the advantages therein, for both
me, the environment, and the animals, and Rob and his coterie of buds
ripped me to shreads and insist that I don't have MS.

He then FOLLOWED over to my home group, rec.music.makers.bowed-strings,
where he proceeded to rip me apart again, over and over, interminably,
without evidence and to the astonished amusement of many of the senior
members of that group who (a) have known me for years; and (b) know I
have MS.

He also insists that I'm lying about my degrees, my violin
performances, that I'm dishonest in every respect and that everything I
say is a lie. Without evidence or proof, just smearing my name all
over the place.

It doesn't trouble because it's silly. Even when my ex-boyfriend
contacted these people and said, look, she has MS. It didn't make any
difference. They believe what they want to believe, and logic,
kindness, or any human decency or respect for the truth, have nothing
to do with it.
