the book is still in my plans
I actually have enough ideas for several books
I purposely have been leaving it for something to do when I am no longer able to get out
I am quite at peace with my circumstances and have accepted the idea that it is likely within a couple years I will no longer be able to go out on my own. That is not a self-fulfilling prophecy, as you can be certain I will be getting out as much as possible for as long as possible.
my long-term care facility has just renovated the upstairs (third floor) and I will get the nicest room as I am likely to be a resident longer than anyone else. My room will have a view of the mountains and ocean. While I will not be able to see the shore near me because of a blocked view by a building just below my line of sight, I will be able to see freighters and other boat's and the far shore and no snow on the mountains (as well as the rest of the North Shore mountains)
they are putting the ceiling mounted lift to assist me to get from my bed to my wheelchair or the bathroom. I will be setting up my wireless network in the new room so I can do all my computing and printing from my bed. the nicest part of this room will be that it will have a private patio/balcony that will only be shared with the one room next door. I might even want to consider buying some plants to place out there but I will have to take into consideration that I will need assistance and cannot be taking up much of their staff's time looking after anything elaborate.
Although this is a government-subsidized facility, it is privately owned and operated by a group of three people who owns several similar facilities. I get along very well with one of the owners who was also director of care it up the facility just up the road. They seemed quite willing to be flexible and helpful in making this my home.
The reality of my personality was identified by my mother a long time ago and reminds me of the Robert service home -- the man who couldn't stand still.by nature I am an adventurer. if this was the days of the wild West I would be a pioneer.
The good news is I should be in my new room within four to six weeks.
something a lot of people have difficulty with is acceptance of their situation. it is not a matter of giving up, it is a matter of accepting things beyond your control. I get inner peace from accepting things beyond my control while making sure to take control of those things I can influence.
enough babbling for now
