ah well, it's funny you should say that. although i'm not favouring this theory, i do believe it's possible to have mono and not know you've had it. i remember being struck down by something when i was around 12, i was in hospital for a few days (maybe it was my first ms attack, who knows!) but the medical fraternity said i had mumps without the swollen glands, or german measles without the spots, or glandular fever without the glands. or a broken leg without the broken leg <shrug>
never did find out what i had, but they obviously thought it was serious enough to isolate me in hospital!
